Euphoria's Sydney Sweeney is a 'cultural icon' as she rocks cut-out chaps in Rolling Stones video

Euphoria actress Sydney Sweeney portrays a video vixen in The Rolling Stones’ newest music video for Angry.

Sydney Sweeney rose to fame in 2019 as Euphoria’s insecure and emotional high schooler Cassie Howard, but that persona was nowhere to be seen in her latest acting role. The 25-year-old stars in The Rolling Stones’ music video, Angry, as a rock ‘n’ roll chick wearing head-to-toe leather.

The carefree video already has us missing the summer vibes.

The actress proved she was the perfect candidate to star in the iconic band’s first album in seven years. Angry is the lead single off Hackney Diamonds, which will be released on October 20, 2023.

Sydney rocked a black leather Versace corset paired with matching studded hotpants, and chaps made of leather cut-out stars chained together. She accessorized with tights, fingerless gloves, and heavy black eyeliner to complete the grunge look.

The body-hugging outfit contrasted her bright blonde hair as it flowed in the wind. The video shows Sydney being driven down the sunny streets of Los Angeles in a red convertible while animated billboards of The Rolling Stones sing to her – she is a total music video muse.

This isn’t her first video appearance; she appeared in Halsey’s video for Graveyard, where she wore a poofy tutu – the complete opposite of her latest mature look.

The style was first teased in July by Sweeney’s stylist, Molly Dickson.

“Can’t wait for you guys to see this music video,” Dickson captioned a video of “Rock n Roll, Syd.”

The meaning of Hackney Diamonds explained

Hackney Diamonds was announced on September 6, along with the release of Angry, at an event hosted by Jimmy Fallon.

The unusual album name refers to Hackney, a district in East London. According to the band’s singer, Mick Jagger, Hackney Diamonds is a “type of British slang”.

“It’s like when you get your windscreen broken on Saturday night in Hackney, and all the bits go on the street… that’s ‘Hackney Diamonds’.”

Initial album names were “Hit And Run” and “Smash And Grab”, Keith Richards revealed. “Somehow, between that, we came up with ‘Hackney Diamonds’.”
